ACCESSIBLE PARKING

Accessible car spaces are available throughout the Melbourne Arts Precinct. Currently there are spaces located at the Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park, on Dodds Street near the Malthouse Theatre in between St Kilda Road and Sturt Street, along Sturt Street outside Melbourne Recital Centre and along St Kilda Road.

ACCESSIBLE DROP OFF

For safe drop offs and collections we recommend Dodds Street which is located next to Southbank Theatre and can be entered via Grant Street. This location has four accessible car spaces. From there you will be able to walk along Southbank Boulevard past Southbank Theatre and the restaurants to our entrance.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Nearest accessible train station: The nearest station is Flinders Street, located approximately 10 minutes walk from the Centre.

Nearest accessible tram stop: Stop 17 on the Route 1 service is conveniently located at the Centre’s doorstep on Sturt Street. This is a platform tram stop providing level access to low floor trams, passenger shelter and protection from traffic.  Alternatively you can alight at Stop 16, in front of the National Gallery of Victoria. Melbourne Recital Centre is a short walk down Southbank Boulevard (approximately 200 metres). This stop is serviced by routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67, 72.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS

There are accessible toilets located on all foyer levels and backstage areas of the Centre. Please ask our venue staff for assistance in locating the one nearest to your seating or working location.

HEARING AUGMENTATION

Patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing may access hearing loops in Elisabeth Murdoch Hall and Primrose Potter Salon.  Please switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position to access this service, or request a receiver and headphones from the Front of House team.  For advice about using your hearing aid at the Centre, please speak with venue staff for assistance.  In Elisabeth Murdoch Hall the hearing loop is available in stalls only. The hearing loop is available throughout the Primrose Potter Salon.

INTRA SITE TRANSPORT

Lift access is available to all foyer levels of the building and all backstage areas (except the Orchestra Pit). Escalator access is also available between Ground Level and foyer Level 1.

COVID-Safe Information

Released in 2000, *Sunset Studies* is the iconic debut album from Australian indie rock favourites Augie March. Musically the album moves seamlessly from sophisticated to naive, joyful to desolate, from intense guitar rock to a stark ambient sound and traditional folk balladry. Songs such as ‘Asleep in Perfection’, ‘There Is No Such Place’, ‘The Hole in Your Roof’ and ‘Here Comes the Night’ have all become cult anthems.   

Augie March went on to release five more acclaimed albums and garner an enduring reputation as one of Australia’s most engaging live acts. But *Sunset Studies* is where it all began, going gold and remaining an expansive, ambitious and literate entry into Australia’s rock canon—and to celebrate its 21st anniversary the band will play the album in full.
