At our ArtPlay Lantern Workshop, you and the kids will not only learn to make your very own lanterns, but also become a moving part of our multi-sensory Wandering Stars experience. Together with your new creations, explore over 400-metres of lanterns, including a giant glowing eel skeleton lighting up the Birrarung (Yarra) river.
After you’ve built your lanterns together and personalised them with colours, you can wander the river’s banks devouring fire-roasted snacks; or listen to special stories that will teach you about eels, the stars and First Peoples’ creation stories.
ArtPlay’s workshops and events are designed specifically for children to experience and explore innovative arts experiences. Each group attending the ArtPlay Lantern Workshop must include one child 13 years or under. Tickets are required for each person attending the 30-minute workshop.
